History

Situated in the Himalayas mountain ranges, Dehradun is one of the most gorgeous cities at the sub-mountain paths of India, famous for its picturesque surroundings. Dehradun’s title is a selection of 2 phrases,"dera" significance camp and"dun," meaning valley. It’s also known as one of India’s earliest cities; it’s thought that Lord Rama and his brother did penance here for killing Ravana, the demon king.

Being the capital of Uttarakhand, Dehradun is well-connected by roads, rail, and air and is easily accessible from most parts of the country. It is 235 km away from Delhi that is easy to reach from different parts of India. Chandigarh is only 183 km away from Dehradun and many drive down to this place in their own vehicle.
