Miley Ray Cyrus (born Destiny Hope Cyrus) is an American singer, actress and, songwriter. She started her career as a Disney teen idol and now has evolved into a renowned star who is now known for her distinctive raspy voice, provocative and non-conformist actions. Over the years both her professional and personal life has sparked a lot of controversies and has received a lot of media coverage. She attained a lot of acclaim and is best known for her role as teenage pop star Hannah Montana Disney Channels's hit sitcom of the same name, Hannah Montana.

Early Life

Miley Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992, in Tennessee to Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia Finley. Cyrus grew up in the limelight of her father who is a popular country music singer. She became the teenage sweetheart of America while playing the role of Hannah Montana in Disney's show Hannah Montana which aired from 2006 to 2011. Cyrus charted several hits, including two #1 soundtracks on the US Billboard 2020. Miley bagged the role of Hannah Montana when she was 11 years old due to her entertaining abilities to dance, act and sing well. Though she auditioned for the role of Hannah Montana's best friend Lilly, she was cast as the main lead of the show. Her divorce from Liam Hemsworth was a public divorce where she was criticized for her decision of moving on. In one of her interviews with Vogue, she dispensed the following advice on relationships “Make a list of what you were gaining and what you were losing [in the relationship]. What they were contributing to your life, and what they were subtracting… Value each of these things by one through to ten,” she advised. “Then add it: if they did add more to your life, then you know what you expect for your next relationship. Failures

Miley Cyrus was caught up in a whirlwind of controversies in her years after the final airing of Hannah Montana. One such incident that got Cyrus barred from being invited to award shows was after she smoked a joint onstage the MTV EMAs show. During the show, Cyrus accepted the award for Best Video Of The Year for her music video Wrecking Ball, she told the audience that she could not fit the award in her bag but instead, she found a joint and lit it on stage. Cyrus upset a lot of people and she was already in hot waters for her twerking performance with Robert Thicke during the 2013 VMAs. She admitted years later that this was why she was not invited to award shows anymore. Years later she said that moment was why she was no longer invited to awards shows.
