Justin Drew Bieber is a Canadian singer and songwriter. Discovered at age 13 by talent manager Scooter Braun after he had watched his YouTube cover song videos, Bieber was signed to RBMG Records in 2008. With Bieber’s debut EP My World, released in late 2009, Bieber became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Bieber was born on March 1, 1994, in London, Ontario, at St Joseph’s Hospital, and was raised in Stratford, Ontario. He is the only child of Jeremy Jack Bieber and Pattie Mallette, who were never married. Mallette’s mother Diane and stepfather Bruce helped her raise her son. Bieber’s ancestry includes French-Canadian, Irish, English, Scottish, and German. He has also stated that he has some undetermined Aboriginal Canadian ancestry.

Early Life

Bieber was born on March 1, 1994, in London, Ontario, at St Joseph's Hospital,[19] and was raised in Stratford, Ontario.[20] He is the only child of Jeremy Jack Bieber and Pattie Mallette, who were never married. Mallette's mother Diane and stepfather Bruce helped her raise her son. Bieber's ancestry includes French-Canadian, Irish, English, Scottish, and German. He has also stated that he has some undetermined Aboriginal Canadian ancestry. Through his father Jeremy, Bieber has three younger half-siblings. Jeremy and his ex-girlfriend Erin Wagner, who broke up in 2014 after seven years together, have two children, daughter Jazmyn and son Jaxon. Jeremy married his girlfriend Chelsey in February 2018, and they have a daughter named Bay. Bieber also has a stepsister named Allie, the daughter of his stepmother.[30] Pattie worked a series of low-paying office jobs, raising Bieber as a single mother in low-income housing. Bieber has maintained contact with his father. Bieber attended a French-language immersion elementary school in Stratford, the Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School. Growing up, he learned to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. He graduated from high school in Stratford, Ontario, the St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in 2012 with a 4.0 GPA. In early 2007, aged 12, Bieber sang Ne-Yo's "So Sick" for a local singing competition in Stratford and was placed second. Mallette posted a video of the performance on YouTube for their family and friends to see. She continued to upload videos of Bieber singing covers of various R&B songs, and Bieber's popularity on the site grew. As required, Justine and his mother transferred their home in Atlanta, where Usher and Braun lived so that he could finish his 1st album. His 1st solo entitled One Time was launched on the radio while Justine was still doing his debut album. That song became # 12 in Canadian Hot 100 in its 1st week of launching sometime in July 2009, and soon it reached its peak at # 17 in Billboard’s Hot 100. Justin attends the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards in year 2010. In 2009, the song became successful in the international music market. Justin Bieber’s debut entitled My World was released in November 2009, and received a certification as platinum in the US. Justin is the 1st music artist to garner 7 songs from his debut record chart in Billboard’s Hot 100. Justine was requested to perform at the Someday at Christmas Special by Stevie Wonder in honor of the 1st couple at the White House which was aired in December 2009 at TNT, the U.S. TV broadcaster. He also performed at the Ryan Seacrest hosted by Dick Clark during the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. In January 2010, Justin Bieber was given the honor of being a presenter during the 52nd Grammy Awards night.

Challenges

Prior to the release of his latest album, Changes, Justin Bieber released a full-fledged documentary that focused on his life. It also spoke about how he met his wife, Hailey Baldwin, and focused on their story as well. Justin Bieber’s promotional documentary also spoke about his drug addiction problems and how he has struggled with mental health over the years. Justin Bieber had taken to social media to explain to his fans that he has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. This came in after many people pointed out how the Baby singer looked different. He further spoke about the same at length in his documentary too. In a candid post way back in 2019, Justin Bieber spoke at length about how his fame led him down a dark path. He spoke about how by the age of 19, he was diving into drugs and how that adversely affected his relationships. He spoke about how achieving so much fame and money at such a young age spoiled him in every manner. Justin Bieber also revealed in his documentary, titled Seasons, how he had to cancel his tour in 2017 to focus on himself. Justin Bieber’s previous girlfriend, Selena Gomez had also spoken about how she was a “victim to certain abuse” in her previous relationship. To which Justin Bieber has accepted that his struggles with drugs made him ruin his relationships as well. In his latest documentary, Justin Bieber also assured his fans that he is getting better than what he was before.

Failures

At 18, he had "millions in the bank" and "access to whatever [I] wanted" but "no skills in the real world". By 19, Bieber says he was doing "pretty heavy drugs" and "abused" the relationships he was in. "I made every bad decision you could have thought of and went from one of the most loved and adored people in the world to the most ridiculed, judged and hated person in the world." Bieber was arrested several times in 2014 with offences ranging from vandalism to driving under the influence, a charge which was later reduced to of driving without due care and attention.
